The Process

Whether or not you already have a resume is no problem. We expect each client to send Resume to Interviews either a resume questionnaire that we provide or their existing resume.  Either of these two documents will provide us with the basic information we need to get started on your new resume.

Once we receive this information, we will create the first working copy of your new resume in Microsoft Word and PDF. In both documents  we  include prompts for more detail, information, achievements, and more using Microsoft Word’s unique comment feature. In multi-user environments, it is an easy and effective way to collaborate and comment on document drafts.

For the next draft, we’ll also ask you to help rephrase the weaker parts of your resume in ways that you know reflect your skills better. This part of the process may take one draft or several drafts, depending on how much restructuring is possible in each draft while retaining coherency. When we’re ready to produce the final draft, we’ll be sure and let you know, so that you can start making plans to start your job search, or to purchase additional services from us such as our cover letter or mock interview service.

During the entire process, you’ll be an active participant in the creation of your resume document. Not only will you be completely familiar and comfortable with your presentation (in fact, it should make you feel energized), but the process of developing your resume will make you a stronger interview candidate, too.

It’s not unusual to exchange files a many times before a resume is completed. Most resume documents can be completed within 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) after you receive the first draft.

If you need your resume completed more quickly, and you’ll be available to review and respond to working drafts in a timely manner, it’s possible that we can have your resume document completed within 24 hours. And we do work weekends!

You’ll be an active participant in the development of your resume. It’s very important that the information in your resume not only be dead-on accurate, but that the writing style be comfortable and natural for you. Most clients find it an uplifting experience to have their skills and achievements recognized and written into a powerful presentation. This is as it should be!

This is a very personalized service, and we maintain strict client confidentiality. This is one of the reasons why you won’t see examples of actual client resumes posted on the website.
